I work closely with clients to understand their style and objectives, while adding my own personal touch. I really enjoy the process of delving into different subject areas and types of design - to date, my projects have included creating custom wedding invitations, graphics for an academic research paper showing the evolution of U.S. immigration statuses, and a guide to folding dumplings for a restaurant. Most of my illustrations are hand drawn and then rendered digitally.
Letterpress is a relief-printing technique, where raised type or images are inked and then pressed into paper, creating a debossed impression. Each piece of paper is hand-fed one at a time into the printing press. I really enjoy the physical process and distinctive final look-and-feel that comes with using old printing machines and techniques, while experimenting with modern (and often irreverent) images and sentiments. I print with custom polymer plates in order to letterpress digital designs.
